Old shadows in toady's darkness

            Enough is enough.

            Some brave and powerful Tennos have scanned the impossible. They somehow managed to do it to the Stalker. Multiple times.All they got were fragments of his mind, and it puzzles me like nothing before.

            If he's not self-delusional, he has been awake during our long slumber, and he was there in our first life. According to his mind, we are the reason the Orokin fled the realms of normal space. By the sword and the gun, how much would I give not to believe this? But it explains too much. If the Stalker is not lost in his own murderous mind, the glance we had on his thoughts says it all.

            Why he is so adamant in punishing us for what is barely of questionable morals.

            Why the Corpus calls us the Traitors, why the Neural Sentries in OrokinTowers see us as ennemies even though we are a creation of the orokin themselves.

            All taunts aside, never has the Stalker been seen in a talking mood. The only one we should be asking questions to is the Lotus herself. I cannot believe she knows nothing of all this. Considering the insigna she has chosen for herself, and where it came from. She must know something. She has to.

            Whatever good she has done to maintain the power balance between the warriors and the merchants while keeping the visible forces of the Infested at bay, keeping us in the dark isn't the best long term solution, unless... unless the old saying applies to us more than anyone. "Ignorance is bliss."

            Because, let's be honest. The Stalker must have known for a very long time that slaying us like this will not end our lives, like we know that Sargas Ruk, Alad V and their ilk will not die after we slay them. We all know we are merely keeping them occupied and force them to use time and resources to stay alive and well.

            And... being able to appear like he does, the Stalker must have had multiple occasions in his very long life to strike at the Stalker directly. If is so adamant in punishing us doing what the Lotus tells us to, why does he continuously strikes the symptoms and not the source? What if both of them, knowing the truth, were to be different sides of the same blade? What if one is trying to set things right, and the other is keeping us in check, giving us someone the fear and to rally against. Time has passed since I teamed with those two Tennos who bested the Stalker in almost a heartbeat. I now match them power. I have almost single-handily taken him down, but, on some other occasion, he more or less killed me in one shot before I had a chance to get what was happening.

            So my guess is that the Stalker does not uses his full strength on purpose, to give us a chance and keeping us worried when he is coming.  For what other reason would he play such an act, if not to keep us from going on a rampage, end the Corpus and Grineer rule to start our own? If we have done what is in his mind, then we are no more than bloodthirsty mercenaries on a leash, and Sargas Ruk is right. We are nothing but mercenaries fighting for scraps, and our honour is a joke. For now.

            Whatever bloodthirsty madmen we have been, the scraps we're fighting for will, with luck, help us to get a hold on the shards of our lost memories. Is so, maybe will we have the chance to atone for what we've done and reclaim our honour. Forge it in righteousness and put it in the service of the Lotus's balance, despite the half-truth and lies she has told us.

            I just hope it is worth it.
